 Green Designation

Expand your business with the newly revised NAR Green Designation. Get up to speed on the latest advancements in the green industry and homes with green features, showing you how to leverage sustainable practices for your clients and your business. 

REALTORS® earn NAR's Green Designation by
1.    Completing the following courses and pass each exam with a score of 80 percent or higher;
          a.    Green 100: Real Estate for a Sustainable Future – Awareness and Comprehension
          b.    Green 200: The Science of Green Building – Research and Insight
          c.    Green 300: Greening Your Real Estate Business – Application Skills
2.    Submit the member application for NAR’s Green Designation with proof of completion for all course requirements and proof of your REALTOR® membership.
3.    Maintain active and good membership status with the Green REsource Council and the National Association of REALTORS®.

Designees must be members (and maintain membership) in the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, as well as members of the Green REsource Council. Membership with the Green REsource Council involves a $99 annual renewal. Your membership begins upon completion of the any 2 of the 3 required courses, which includes one year of membership to the Green REsource Council. Your second year of membership (beginning one year after your completion of 2 of the 3 required courses) will be prorated through the end of the year. Your third year and thereafter will be $99. Green 100:  Real Estate for a Sustainable Future

Date: Friday, September 28, 2012 | Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm                            

Location: Greater Boston Real Estate Board, One Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite, Boston, MA                    

Instructor: Fred Southwell

This course will lead you though an exploration of issues and trends in relation to real estate's role in finding the balance between people, planet, and prosperity. Learn how to build a green-focused real estate business by providing objective information to clients and customers on nationally recognized certifications and ratings programs that evaluate homes, products, energy efficiency, and professionals. 

Green 200:  The Science of Green Building 

Date: Friday, October 26, 2012 | Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Greater Boston Real Estate Board, One Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite, Boston, MA                    

Instructor: Fred Southwell

This course is designed to familiarize you with green principles and choices in home design and construction; raise your awareness of innovative materials, systems, and construction methods; learn about energy-efficient systems including onsite power generation and distinguish levels and cost-benefits of retrofitting, remodeling, or renovating existing homes.
