BOMA Boston Committees
Being a BOMA Boston committee member affords you with the opportunity to help shape our programs and events, build relationships and enhance your leadership skills. BOMA Boston has close to 200 committee members who help plan our 40+ events per year. To maximize the value of your membership, we encourage committee participation. Committee participation requires attendance at committee meetings and active participation as a representative of BOMA Boston. Please email Kayla Burmeister with your Committee preference(s). You will receive a confirmation and notification of the first committee meeting upon acceptance.

Charitable Giving Committee: This committee is responsible for planning the BOMA Benefit and planning additional community service activities with BOMA’s Charitable Partner. The BOMA Charitable Giving Committee meetings monthly from November - March. *2021 Schedule will be different.
Emerging Professionals Committee: This committee plans and promotes programs and opportunities to foster the professional growth of new industry leaders within the organization. Recommended for professionals with 0-10 years of industry experience. The Emerging Professionals Committee meets monthly.
Co-Chairs: Lauren Lanzillo, Ug2 and Jessica McGuinn, Paradigm Properties
Engineering Committee: This committee plans programs and offers opportunities to involve engineers in the association, including the judging of the Engineer Awards for the Annual TOBY & Industry Awards. The committee is also in charge of providing content and promoting various engineer programs including Tech Tours and Seminars. The Engineering Committee meets every other month as needed.

Special Events Committee: This committee is responsible for planning and promoting two signature summer events: The Annual Fishing Tournament in June and the Annual Golf Tournament in July. this committee also plans two member favorite events - Springfest and Fallfest.
This committee meets every other month of as needed.
Co-Chairs: Keara Gaffey, Wise Construction
Membership Committee: This committee is responsible for assisting with the dues renewal process for BOMA members including outreach to members. The committee is responsible for lead generation and identifying ways to engage and retain members. The Membership Committee meets monthly from January - March and then every other month for the remainder of the year.

Preparedness Committee: This committee advocates and develops best practices and initiatives regarding emergency preparedness for BOMA Boston members. The committee also plans and promotes the September Emergency Preparedness Roundtable. The Preparedness Committee meets as needed.
Programs & Education Committee: This committee is responsible for planning and marketing BOMA's educational offerings, including the monthly Roundtables. This committee meets monthly.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee: New in 2021, the DEI Committee will focus on creating a more diverse and welcoming industry through education and resources. This committee meets monthly.

TOBY & Industry Awards Committee: The TOBY & Industry Awards Committee is responsible for identifying and encouraging buildings to compete in the TOBY Awards and applying for the BOMA 360 Designation Program. The committee also oversees the call for entries and overall judging process. The committee is also responsible for encouraging participation with the Industry Awards. This committee meets monthly from February - June and then as needed.

TOBY & Industry Awards Judging: (not a committee) This short term, active assignment is for TOBY & Industry Awards judging only from September - October. A request for judges will be sent to the BOMA membership in June.
