Developing Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace
Emotions are the primary driver of our behavior therefore feelings play a great role in our ability to successfully communicate and build relationships. Emotional Intelligence is defined as a set of competencies demonstrating the ability one has to recognize his or her behaviors, moods, and impulses, and to manage them best according to the situation. A team member with high emotional intelligence can manage his or her own impulses, communicate with others effectively, manage change well, shows accountability, solve problems, and will not allow complaining or excuses instead creates a forward moving action during conflictive situations.
