GBREB Staff Position - BOMA/REFA Executive Director
Position Overview
This position will direct staff to execute the strategic goals of the Building Owners and Managers Association and the Real Estate Finance Association with a combined membership of over 1,000 members. The Director is accountable for annual membership revenues by developing and managing new member recruitment programs to increase membership as well as overseeing and further developing retention programs to maintain existing membership. He/she is also responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan for each Division, which also fits within the goals and objectives of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a leader and valued team player to engage and inspire our staff, board, members and volunteers, in a collaborative effort to meet the mission of the two divisions. Key performance outcomes expected of the Executive Director include:
· Provide strong operational leadership and serve as a critical resource for Division presidents.
· A supportive, Team oriented selfless leader with a patience and vision.
· A demonstrated attitude of working collectively for the better good of the whole organization.
· Collaborate with the Presidents in maximizing the accomplishment of the goals and vision.
· Work cooperatively with divisions and volunteer leadership. The ability to motivate and inspire Boards of Directors and model excellent professional behavior.
· Demonstrate the experience and vision to expand the membership base while providing education, events and resources to our existing membership.
· The Director will evaluate and develop membership benefit programs that are designed to grow and retain membership.
· Successful experience in collaboration and partnerships within the industry.
· Successful track record in building high performing staff teams, effective delegation, and creating a workplace environment of trust, creativity, and accountability.
· Ensure a positive work environment and culture that is results oriented while fostering teamwork and collaboration within the associations,
· The ability to understand and set realistic goals including realistic scheduling and adherence to deadlines; knowledge and understanding of the constituencies and the services area; integrity, creativity, persistence, and achievement oriented.
· Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the divisions and a passion for providing quality education and services. Increase programs and outreach and provide leadership in identifying and serving the commercial industry.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Chief Executive Officer.
Works in close consultation with Presidents of each respective Division.
Establishes productive relationships with relevant organizations and/or individuals.
Maintains productive working relationships with members, partners and staff.
Participates in events, manages and contributes to group projects.
Requirements
· 7 – 10+ years, association leadership experience preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
· Strategic focus with ability to mobilize resources within a team environment required.
· Change management skills and experience required.
· Proven track record of successful project management and working with teams.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Some travel to National affiliate meetings is required.
