Boston Energy Mandate Update: September 15th Delay Considered

On Monday, May 12th the Boston City Council Committee on Government Operations held a public hearing on a proposal by Mayor Walsh to delay the implementation of the energy mandate in Boston for 120 days.

In April, the Boston City Council voted overwhelmingly to delay implementation of the energy mandate in Boston for one year. The lone dissenting vote was Councilor Matt O’Malley (D-Jamaica Plain).

It is anticipated the Committee will act swiftly with a compromise recommendation for City Council to consider on Wednesday. The first reporting deadline is currently set for this Thursday May 15th.
