GBAR Awards $15,000 to Local Charities
Members of the GBAR Community Service Committee, led by Chairperson Joanne Taranto and Vice Chairperson Annette Given, met to review 32 grant applications submitted by local housing groups and agencies requesting assistance from the GBREB Foundation. As there are many worthy organizations that need financial assistance, the committee selected 10 local, non-profit housing and homeless assistance organizations that would most benefit from receiving a grant of $1,500. The organizations are: The Charles River Center in Needham, Community Cooks, Inc. in Somerville, Heading Home in Charlestown, The Home for Little Wanderers in Boston, Horizons for Homeless Children in Boston, Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless in Lynn, Mission of Deeds, Inc. in Reading, “Our Place” Daycare for Homeless Children in Cambridge, The Second Step in Newtonville and Rediscovery in Waltham. Please remember that when you pay your REALTOR® dues you have the option to voluntarily donate to the GBREB Foundation. We sincerely appreciate each and every donation, as it allows us to continue our charitable efforts and give back to the communities we serve.
