GBAR Member honored with MAR Public Policy and Property Rights Advocacy Award
The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) has honored GBAR Member Judy Moore, a broker with Higgins Group REALTORS® in Lexington, as the 2013 recipient of the MAR Public Policy and Property Rights Advocacy Award. Moore, a GBAR past pesident, received the award at REALTOR® Day on Beacon Hill at the Massachusetts State House on June 5, 2013.
“Judy has been an outstanding example of what it means to be committed to advocating on behalf of REALTORS®, homeowners and the right to buy, sell and transfer real property,” said 2013 Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® President Kimberly Allard-Moccia, broker-owner of Century 21 Professionals in Braintree. “She has volunteered countless hours to making sure that the voice of the REALTOR® Association and our members is part of any conversation potentially impacting the real estate market and the principle of home ownership.”
A REALTOR® since 1987, Judy is a MAR director, was MAR's president in 2004, and has served on numerous committees at MAR over the years. Most recently she was chair of the Audit Committee. She was a National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Federal Political Coordinator for Senator John Kerry until his recent appointment as Secretary of State. Moore is a member of the NAR Board of Directors, the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Major Investor Counsel; and the RPAC Trustees Federal Disbursement Committee. Judy is a member of the RPAC Hall of Fame, a Golden “R” and President’s Circle member.
