Local Lawmakers Meet with REALTORS®
On Thursday, October 18, GBAR welcomed Massachusetts Representative Edward Coppinger, 10th Suffolk, and Representative Russell Holmes, 5th Suffolk, to our first Legislative Community Chat at the Federal Reserve Bank in Downtown Boston. GBREB’s Director of Government Affairs, Patricia Baumer, moderated a discussion on several public policy issues important to REALTORS® and the Real Estate Industry such as Copper Theft, Bed Bug Mitigation, Transfer Taxes and Energy Scoring. During the session, our lawmakers offered their opinions on these policies and commented on their work in the State House, while also offering suggestions for advancing the REALTOR® Party Agenda on Beacon Hill. As the forum ended, both our members and guests walked away with a new perspective on the political advocacy done on behalf of REALTORS® and your clients and customers. As we continue with our Community Chats in regions 2, 3 and 4 in the next couple of weeks, we invite you to join in the discussion, which will feature local superintendents and local legislators. Click here to check out when your Region’s chat will be held and to see who will be coming next to your Community. Registration for each Community Chat is free to GBAR members.
