Scholarships and Housing Grants from the GBREB Foundation
The core mission of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) is to provide education, advocacy and philanthropy to the Greater Boston Community. In order to facilitate philanthropy, GBREB established the Greater Boston Real Estate Board Foundation - a charitable, tax exempt organization.
Last year, GBREB created a scholarship program to provide financial assistance to high school seniors with exceptional academic ability in the Greater Boston area who are pursuing their dream of receiving a college education. The scholarships will range from $1,000 - $5,000, guaranteed for two years. Please pass this information along if you know a high school senior that meets the scholarship criteria, or ideally distribute the scholarship application to your local high school, and community youth organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs and YMCA. The deadline to submit an application is April 2.
Additionally, grants of up to $2,500 are available through the GBREB Foundation for local housing-related non-profit organizations. Grants are restricted to 501 (c)(3) organizations which provide shelter, food and clothing, mortgage and/or rental assistance, home buyer counseling or other similar support to individual and households. In addition, the organizations nominated or applying for a grant must be located in or operate within the GBAR jurisdiction or an adjacent community in which a GBAR member firm is located. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2012. For more information or to obtain an application, visit gbar.org or contact Kate Reynolds at 617-399-7840 or email@example.com.
