Tax Reform Talks Target Property Tax Deduction
Last month, NAR President Bill Brown appeared in a short video, announcing the association’s strong opposition of any attempt to limit or eliminate tax incentives for homeownership and real estate investment. One such tax reform proposal currently being advanced, under a plan being developed by U.S. House Republicans is the elimination of federal tax deduction for property taxes. Brown asserts that it is important to keep these incentives in place to support current homeowners and to help lead the way for renters to fulfill the American Dream of Homeownership. Lastly, he emphasized that the REALTOR® Party will continue to be vocal as the conversation continues on Capitol Hill.
