With the fourth quarter approaching, 2012 is starting to wind down and at GBAR, this means preparing for 2013. One of the most valuable tools that GBAR has is its committees. Members that volunteer their time to help the organization find solutions to issues, create new programs, and offer a real life perspective on decisions impacting the real estate industry. Taking an active role in the association allows you to be part of the decision-making process, is a great networking opportunity, and allows you to give back to the profession. For example, with the help of the Membership Benefits Committee, a GBAR Membership video was created. The Community Service Committee meets every year to select organizations to receive monetary grants from the GBREB Foundation. The Professional Standards and Grievance Committees make up the panels when arbitration hearings come forward. There are so many different ways to be involved and really make an impact. I invite you to submit an application, whether you have served before or are a first time volunteer to committees, and help us create a better future for GBAR.!
