On April 2, members of the GBAR Community Service Committee, led by Chairperson Tammy DeWolfe and Vice Chairperson Stephanie Barber, met to review 28 grant applications submitted by local housing groups and agencies requesting assistance from the GBREB Foundation. As there are many worthy organizations that need financial assistance, the committee selected 10 local, non-profit housing and homeless assistance organizations that would most benefit from receiving a grant of $2,500. The organizations are: Lovin' Spoonfuls, Inc., Boston; "Our Place" Daycare for Homeless Children, Cambridge; Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, Lynn; The Miller/Tracy Children’s Foundation, Waltham; Circle of Hope, Inc., Needham; Interfaith Social Services, Quincy, and the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (JCHE), Brighton; Community Cooks, Inc., Somerville; Family and Community Resources, Brockton; Horizons for Homeless Children, Boston. Additionally, we are so pleased to announce that the GBAR Board of Directors approved a $10,000 donation from the GRBEB Foundation to the One Fund, which was formed to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013. Please remember that when you pay your REALTOR® dues you have the option to voluntarily donate to the GBREB Foundation. We sincerely appreciate each and every donation, as it allows us to continue our charitable efforts and give back to the communities we serve.
