I am happy to report to you that last Thursday, June 28th, at the Warren Conference Center and Inn in Ashland, GBAR honored a few special members of our organization at the Annual Awards Dinner. Claiming the night's top honor of 2012 REALTOR® of the Year was Immediate Past President, Deb Heffernan. Also honored were David Peretti, Senior Vice President of Hammond Residential Real Estate, who was presented with the prestigious Andrew Hickey Distinguished Service Award, Andrew Sarno, an agent with ERA Andrew Realty in Medford, who earned the REALTOR® Spirit Award, Janet Porcaro, of Keller Williams Realty in Newton Highlands who received the GBAR Good Neighbor Award and the GBAR Affiliate Member of the Year award went to John Torvi, of Herbert H. Landy Insurance Company in Needham Heights. Also, several members are new major investors for the REALTOR® Political Action Committee. Anthony Lamacchia, of McGeough Lamacchia Realty in Waltham and Larry Rideout, of Gibson Sotheby's International Realty in Boston became Golden R and part of the President's Circle, Diane Higgins, of Higgins Group REALTORS® in Lexington joined the Crystal R level, and Deb Heffernan, of Avenue 3 Real Estate in Cambridge, Carmela Laurella, of CL Waterfront Properties in Boston, Mel Martocchia, of Martocchia & Company, REALTORS® in Waltham, Mary Lou McDonough, of the Higgins Group REALTORS® in Lexington, Andrew Sarno, of ERA Andrew Realty in Medford, Joe Schutt of Bushari Group Real Estate in Boston, and Paul Yorkis, of Patriot Real Estate in Medway all became Sterling R level contributors.
