GBAR Donates $10,000 to Support Hurricane Relief Effort
The recent destruction that Hurricane Sandy caused in New York and New Jersey is unimaginable. REALTORS®, more than most, understand first hand what it means to be a homeowner, and realize the incredible losses that so many are facing from this latest natural disaster. Therefore, in response, GBAR leadership has acted quickly to approve a $10,000 donation to the National Association of REALTORS® Relief Foundation to support association members and other property owners who suffered damage or the loss of a home, business, or other personal property caused by this storm. Funds from this donation come from the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) Foundation, which is supported, in part, by voluntary contributions made by GBAR members during the annual dues billing process. The donation will be disseminated via state REALTOR® associations in the affected areas, and 100% of the monies donated to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation will go to the victims of this disaster.
