The candidates for the CBA Special Recognition Awards (Landlord, Rising Star and Broker of the Year), are nominated by the membership.

  • You may only nominate one individual or company for each special recognition award.

  • You may nominate your company or a member of your company.

  • Your nomination must be accompanied by a narrative, not to exceed 100 words explaining why this candidate is worthy of the award.

  • All nominations are subject to review by the Presidential Council, consisting of the three most recent past presidents, the current president and the president elect of CBA.

  • You may not vote for your company or a member of your company.

  • The winners are selected by popular vote.

Candidates for the CBA Achievement Awards (Deals of the Year) are selected from entries submitted by the membership.

  • A Presidential Council (Council), consisting of the three most recent past presidents, the current president and the president elect of CBA shall select, from among the nominees, not more than ten candidates for each Achievement Award category.

  • The Council shall submit its nominees to a Judging Committee not later than January 30, 2012. The Committee shall consist of industry experts, appointed by the Council, who have had experience in real estate brokerage, income property sales, industrial brokerage, office brokerage, and retail brokerage.

  • Not later than February 6, 2012, the Judging Committee shall report to the Council its selection of a winner in each award category.

  • The recommendations of the Judging Committee are final, unless the majority of the Council votes to override the selection of the Judging committee.

The Board of Directors of CBA has the right to modify and amend the Rules and Regulations from time to time and/or dissolve the CBA Achievement Awards at its discretion.

REQUIREMENT FOR CONSIDERATION

  1. Any applicant who is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration and who is a member of CBA, whose dues are current and whose Principal is licensed and is also a member of CBA, whose dues are current, is eligible for consideration.

  2. Said Applicant must also be a 2012 dues paying member, at the time of the presentation of the CBA Achievement Awards.

  3. If an applicant is a new member of CBA, only transactions closed after the effective date of membership in CBA will count as CBA Achievement Awards.

  4. Transactions must have been closed or completed with no outstanding contingencies to be eligible for consideration.

  5. The Applicant must submit a properly executed application to CBA on or before Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Said application shall be in the possession of CBA, located at One Center Plaza (Mezzanine Suite) Boston, MA 02108, no later than 5:00 p.m.

PROMOTION OF THE CBA ACHIEVEMENT AND SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS
Recipients of CBA Achievement Awards (as appropriate) may promote their winner status on business cards, letterheads or printed matter as follows:

  • 2011 CBA Deal of the Year (by category)

  • 2011 CBA Broker of the Year

  • 2011 CBA Rising Star

  • 2011 CBA Landlord of the Year

MISCELLANEOUS
The Council and/or the Committee shall have the right to review with any Applicant the documents relating to a transaction and that are deemed relevant by the Committees. Any Applicant shall promptly cooperate with these Committees.
