Committees
Participation on BOMA Boston Committees provides you with the opportunity to help shape our programs and events, build relationships and enhance your leadership skills. BOMA Boston has close to 200 committee members who help plan our 40 events per year. To maximize the value of your membership we encourage committee participation and there are many different committees to choose from. Listed below are the committees in which you are welcome to join. Committee participation requires attendance at committee meetings and active participation as a representative of BOMA Boston. Please email Kayla Burmeister, Senior Membership & Events Coordinator, at kburmeister@gbreb.com with your preference. You will receive confirmation and notification of the first committee meeting upon acceptance.

Affiliate Committee: The Affiliate Committee promotes Affiliate members' initiatives and events including Springfest, Fallfest, a New Member Breakfast and the Online Buyers Guide. The Affiliate Committee meets monthly as needed. Active committee assignment
BOMA Benefit Committee: The BOMA Benefit Committee is responsible for identifying the local beneficiaries, raising funds and planning the Annual Benefit which is held each spring. The BOMA Benefit meets monthly from December to March. Active committee assignment.
BOMA Cup Golf Committee:The Golf Committee plans and promotes the 300 person 2-course Golf Tournament held annually at Pinehills Golf Course in Plymouth, MA on July 8th, 2013. The Committee meets monthly from February – July. Medium committee assignment
Education Committee: The Education Committee plans the calendar for BOMI designation programs and other continuing education designations. The committee also oversees the BOMA Education Scholarship program and makes recommendations to BOMI for course enhancements. The committee meets every other month. Medium committee assignment
Emergency Preparedness Committee: The Emergency Preparedness Committee advocates and develops best practices and initiatives regarding emergency preparedness for BOMA Boston Members. The committee also plans and promotes the September Emergency Preparedness Roundtable. The committee has a monthly conference call. Medium committee assignment
Emerging Professionals Committee: Emerging Professionals Committee: The Emerging Professionals Committee plans and promotes programs and opportunities to foster the professional growth of new industry leaders within the organization. Recommended for professionals with 0 – 10 years of industry experience. Active committee assignment
Engineering Committee:The Engineering Committee plans programs and offers opportunities to involve engineers in the Association, including the judging of the Engineer Awards for the Annual TOBY & Industry Awards. The Committee is also in charge of content for a quarterly Engineer Newsletter. The committee meets every other month. Medium committee assignment
Fishing Tournament Committee: The Fishing Tournament Committee plans the Annual Sold-Out BOMA Boston Striped Bass and Bluefish Fishing Tournament held each year in June. The committee meets monthly from February – June. Medium committee assignment
Membership Committee: The Membership Committee is responsible for generating new business leads, assisting with the renewal process, identifying ways to retain members and attract new business. The Membership Committee meets monthly from January – March and then every other month for the remainder of the year. Active committee assignment
Programs Committee: The Programs Committee plans and promotes BOMA’s monthly roundtable events and Executive Series Luncheons. The Committee is responsible for identifying topics and speakers for programs. The Programs Committee meets monthly. Active committee assignment
Sustainability Committee: The Sustainability Committee is responsible for planning the Green Summit which is held each spring (April 4th, 2013) and is also responsible for promoting sustainable building operations within the BOMA Boston membership. The committee meets monthly from October – March and then as needed. Active committee assignment—space is limited
TOBY and Industry Awards Committee: The TOBY & Industry Awards Committee is responsible for judging the 2013-2014 TOBY & Industry Awards nominees who will be presented at the Annual BOMA Awards dinner in November. Judges are responsible for reviewing TOBY submissions and performing site tours, interviewing candidates, and making final selections to determine winners in 15+ categories. Subcommittees are formed and the highest level of professionalism and discretion is required for this process. The TOBY & Industry Awards Committee is an active assignment in September and October. Registration for this committee ends September 1st, 2013 and space is limited.
MAC 2014 Planning Committee: The MAC Planning Committee is now full. The MAC 2014 Planning Committee will help plan, raise funds and promote the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Conference held in Spring 2014. Committee sub-groups may be formed. The committee will meet monthly in 2013 and the first quarter of 2014.
